This station was built with a building area of ​​23,000 square meters on a 31,743 square meter plot of land.

Phase I of the Tanah Abang Station upgrade aims to transform Tanah Abang Station into a modern transportation hub, capable of serving up to 300,000 passengers daily.

This capacity increase is a response to the high daily passenger volume in the Greater Jakarta area.

In addition, this station also serves two Jabodetabek Commuter Line KRL routes: Cikarang-Tanah Abang-Pasar Senen-Cikarang and Tanah Abang-Rangkasbitung.

This project includes the construction of a new station building, new railway tracks, and the revitalization of the existing 1,489-meter single-track line.
